町内会

前のメッセージの返事に日本語の言葉「町内会」を学べました。英語で国によって、2つの相当の言葉があります。しかし、国によって、グループも少し違います。


英語圏で「Home Owners Association (HOA)」は少しく悪い言葉になりました。理由はアメリカで厳しいHOAというグループがあります。例えば、HOAが家の色や植物の一種を限ります。それに、アメリカにHOAが住民を罰金できます。他の英語国に、多いアメリカのメディアを見るから、そのイメージもあります。しかし、アイルランドに「Resident's Association」というグループあります。HOAに違って、抑制がありません。要求できなくて、罰金できません。任意の資金調達したり、イベントを整えたりする組しかありません。

In the replies to my previous message, I learned the Japanese word 町内会 (chounaikai). In English, depending on which country you're in, there's two corresponding words. However, depending on the country, the groups are slightly different.

In the English world, "Home Owner's Association (HOA)" has sort of become a bad word. The reason is that there are strict HOAs in America. For example, the HOAs can limit the colour of your house or the type of plans. On top of that, in America, HOAs are even able to fine residents. In other English speaking countries, because they watch a lot of Amercian media, that image is also there. However, in Ireland, there are groups called Resident's Associations. Unlike HOAs, they have no authority. They can't make demands, and they can't issue fines. They only do voluntary fundraising and event organisation.
