My Life in SZ (18) - Important Man Behind My Boss

The business was exceeding my boss's expectations, they earned a lot. They often invited us to take leisure at sea shore in the afternoon, or sang and danced in Disco club at night. It's not surprise that I could dance until two or three clock in the morning, however now, I would not go there even paid to me.

Sister Wang (one of my bosses) drove a Toyota car which is expensive for us. At that time, most of us even didn't know how to drive. I remembered an expert once said in a local newspaper predicting China would be a vehicle big country in 20 years. We didn't believe that, many of us couldn't imagine we can buy a car one day. In fact, I bought a car five years later.

In the Disco club room, sometimes we could meet some of sister Wang's friends, and nearly all of them had cars. She often talked loudly when she promised to delete their traffic fining letter or record because her husband was a police officer with a high rank. She made a call to her husband could solve many problems.

I saw her husband many times, he was kind to us since we were his staff too. He once said they had speeded up arranging for many families to migrate to Hong Kong because the handover of Hong Kong in 1997 is approaching, and the families were working for them. I didn't understand his words then, however, I get his meaning now.

I didn't understand his words then, however, but I get his meaning now.

You can't use "however" in the middle of the sentence. You either need to start a new sentence, or use a semicolon to separate the two clauses.

The business was exceeding my boss's expectations, they earned a lot.

The business was exceeding my boss's expectations, they. It earned a lot. The business was exceeding my boss's expectations. It earned a lot.

The second sentence would sound better if it said it earned a lot of money.

The business was exceeding my boss's expectations,; they earned a lot. The business was exceeding my boss's expectations; they earned a lot.

They often invited us to a day on the beach in the afternoon, or to go singing and dancing at the disco club at night.

"day on the beach" sounds more natural to me this way (US English).

It's not surprise that I could dance until two or three clock in the morning, however now, I would not go there even paid to me.

Sister Wang (one of my bosses) drove a Toyota (car), which iwas expensive for us. Sister Wang (one of my bosses) drove a Toyota (car), which was expensive for us.

You can remove "car" here if you want. Many people often just say the brand name.

At that time, most of us even didn't know how to drive.

At that time, most of us even didn'tdidn’t even know how to drive. At that time, most of us didn’t even know how to drive.

At that time, most of us even didn't even know how to drive. At that time, most of us didn't even know how to drive.

This is the more natural order in the US.

At that time, most of us even didn't even know how to drive. At that time, most of us didn't even know how to drive.

I remembered an expert once said in a local newspaper predicting China would be a vehicle big country in 20 years.

I remembered an expert once said in a local newspaper predicting China would be a vehicle big country in 20 years. I remembered an expert once said in a local newspaper predicting China would be a vehicle big country in 20 years.

I’m not sure what you are trying to say here. Are you trying to say that China would have a lot of cars in 20 years? The last part might be better “China would have a large number vehicles on the road in 20 years.”

I remembered an expert once saipredicted in a local newspaper predictingthat China would be a big vehicle big country in 20 years. I remembered an expert once predicted in a local newspaper that China would be a big vehicle country in 20 years.

I remembered an expert once said in a local newspaper predictingthat China would be a big vehicle big country / producer in 20 years. I remembered an expert once said in a local newspaper that China would be a big vehicle country / producer in 20 years.

Having both "once said" and "predicted" in the sentence is redundant, so you should choose one or the other. An example with "predicted": "I remember reading in a local newspaper that an expert predicted that China would be a big vehicle country in 20 years."

We didn't believe that, many of us couldn't imagine we can buy a car one day.

We didn't believe that, m. Many of us couldn't imagine we canthat we could buy a car one day. We didn't believe that. Many of us couldn't imagine that we could buy a car one day.

We didn't believe that, because many of us couldn't imagine we canthat we could buy a car one day. We didn't believe that because many of us couldn't imagine that we could buy a car one day.

This is subjunctive tense.

We didn't believe that, since many of us couldn't imagine we can'd be able to buy a car one day. We didn't believe that, since many of us couldn't imagine we'd be able to buy a car one day.

In fact, I bought a car five years later.
