Lebanon

Lebanon is one of the few countries that retains its biblical name.
Like Israel, Lebanon is a country mentioned in the Bible over and over again.
Since ancient times, the region has been famous for its timber production, most of all, cedar wood, which reportedly was used to build King Solomon's Temple.
The cedar has since become Lebanon's national emblem and even appears on its flag.
Arabic is the country's official language, while French and English are widely spoken.
In recent years, refugees from Syria have flooded into Lebanon.

Snow falls in Lebanon in winter, and snow in the mountains can last for nearly half a year.
