Eating out has become a luxury thing for me in Canada. Most of the time, I have to cook for myself at home. A few months later, I am an expert in the kitchen. One thing I dislike very much is paying tips, which is normal here, but as expenses in this country seem a bit high, the additional service fees could really increase my burden. However, as an individual, I am definitely unable to challenge the tradition. The only way to be confident in the restaurant is to pay tips or not go there. Probably because I have obtained a reputation for cooking, a friend phoned me and asked me to join their family party and help them make hot pot on the coming Thanksgiving Day. To be honest, I don't want to go there, but I answered yes promptly.

Good job with this one. There are a few sentences that are unnatural and long, but your original writing is understandable!

I’m assume you don’t want to go at all, the location itself isn’t the problem (so you don’t need “there”)

Why say yes if you don’t want to go? Just say thanks but I already have plans 😅
However, as an individual, I am definitely unable to challenge the tradition.
I feel this sentence flows more naturally without "definitely". It isn't wrong to use it, but sticks out a little

Overall it reads very naturally, good job
