Customs of the Dragon Boat Festival in My Area.
I live in the mid-east part of China, where there is a big plain.
The dragon boat festival is a traditional Chinese festival. I have celebrated it since I was a kid.
We have a few traditional customs during the dragon boat festival.
Making and eating rice dumplings. Every year before the festival, families make dumplings. They use rice and reed leaves to make it and like to fill it with sugar or jujube.
Many southerners like to fill rice dumplings with salty meat, but I am not used to it.
Hanging wormwood. Before the festival, people cut some fresh wormwood from fields and tighten them into bunches. Then they hang the bunches of wormwood on the top of their doors and windows with the top of the wormwood down.
The dragon boat festival is on the lunar May fifth. People think it is time that all the poisonous insects are active, so they hang the wormwood to repel the harmful insects.
Wearing fragrant sachets. Before the festival, parents like to make a few small fragrant sachets for their children.
They find some fragrant plants and grind them into powder, then fill the powder in sachets that are already prepared.
Parents would use threads with different colors to embroider beautiful patterns on the sachets.
All the sachets have long and thin colorful ropes which are used to hang the sachets on children's necks to repel the poisonous insects.
These are the three most popular customs during the dragon boat festival in my area. So far, the customs haven’t changed.

Great job! I only noted a few small things and some suggestions about word order. Overall it reads really fluently!
