Yesterday, I just felt like reading foreign news in English during a lunch time.
I chose the journal of New Zealand, which is about some woman in her 20s being forced to come back to NZ from New York due to the pandemic of COVID-19.
I was sympathized with her because she got stuck on her life and went abroad for seeking something to live for. I want to live in NZ instead of her, though.
The word "Kiwis" was suddenly appeared in the texts, and somewhat confusing. I wondered if it means birds or fruits.
Then I could guess that "Kiwis" is the same meaning as "New Zealanders" from the contexts.
I found it true that New Zealanders call themselves "Kiwis" as a nickname after that. This makes me being more crazy about New Zealand.
Someday I want to be one of "Kiwis"!

Though unlike her, I want to live in NZ instead of her, though.
"instead of her" makes it sound like you want to live in NZ in her place rather than just in general.
The word "Kiwis" was suddenly appeared in the texts, and was somewhat confusing.

Then I could guessfigured out that "Kiwis" ihas the same meaning as "New Zealanders" from the contexts.
I found it trueLater I confirmed that New Zealanders call themselves "Kiwis" as a nickname after that.
Or: "After finishing the article, I confirmed that New Zealanders call themselves "Kiwis" as a nickname."
Also, "I found out" or "I made sure" or "I found it to be true" can work instead of "I confirmed"
This makes me being moreeven crazyier about New Zealand.
Or: "This makes me even more excited about New Zealand."
Someday I want to be one of the "Kiwis"!
