I feel quarreling with someone is a kind of using enormous energy, so I tend to avoid that.

I feel quarreling with someone is a kind of usinguses enormous energy, so I tend to avoid that. I feel quarreling with someone uses enormous energy, so I tend to avoid that.

The point you are making is stronger without the qualifying words before "enormous." Also, "a kind of using" is awkward if not incorrect. Here is a version that stays closer to your sentence. "I feel quarreling with someone is a way to use enormous energy, so I tend to avoid that." (It doesn't sound as natural to me.) Here is another alternative: "I feel quarreling with someone is a waste of enormous energy, so I tend to avoid that." ("A waste of energy, time, effort" are common phrases; but in this case, the phrase doesn't flow well with "enormous" in the middle of it.)

I feel quarreling with someone is a kind of using enormouses a lot of energy, so I tend to avoid that. I feel quarreling with someone kind of uses a lot of energy, so I tend to avoid that.

you could also say, "quarreling is a waste of energy" since it makes you tired

I feel quarreling with someone is a kind of usinges enormous energy, so I tend to avoid that. I feel quarreling with someone kind of uses enormous energy, so I tend to avoid that.

Using kind of this way is an informal way of speaking. It is okay for casual conversation though. It basically means "to a certain extend".

I feel quarreling with someone is a kind of usinguses enormous energy, so I tend to avoid thait. I feel quarreling with someone uses enormous energy, so I tend to avoid it.

We are speaking in the present tense now, so verbs like "uses" are needed
