Day 23

Recently, I'm starting to feel that I don't write as well as I thought I did in my native language. Consciously or not, I do read a lot every day, but when it comes to writing, I don't do it nearly as much. The feeling gets stronger when I correct other people's writing on this website. I probably know what they meant to say, but somehow, constrained by the sentence structure they used, it's hard for me to correct it properly. Maybe I should write something like a diary in my language every day. And it might be easier to write a diary than to write online, since you're allowed to write something stupid or boring when the only reader is just yourself. XD

To me, using the simple present tense (“I am”) with “recently” sounds wrong, but others might feel differently.

也可以: Recently, I'm starting to have been feeling that I don't write as well as Ipreviously thought I did in my native language. 也可以: Recently, I have been feeling that I don't write as well as previously thought in my native language.

注意:在写作时,最好尽量减少使用"我"这个词,以避免显得以自我为中心。说话时,这没有问题。 这是口语和书面英语不同的一种方式。NOTE: When writing, it is best to minimize the use of the word "I" to avoid seeming to self-centered. When speaking, this is no problem. (This is one way that spoken English and written English differ.)

Consciously or not, I do read a lot every day, but when it comes to writing, I don't do it nearly as much.
