Special Online Lessons That I Have Been Having.
One of my online English teachers is from Mexico. After I had several of his lessons, he sent me a message. He said in the message that he had a kind of eye illness and the doctor told him that the illness was caused by staying a long time in front of the computer's screen. If he wanted to get his eyes well, he must avoid staying in front of the computer's screen.
That meant he couldn't teach me with his camera on, unless I didn't mind having lessons with his camera off. Of course, he told me that I could cancel all the lessons I had booked.
I didn't cancel the lessons, so far I still booked lessons from him. I don't think that having a lesson without the camera on is a big deal, although it really matters to some extent.
Another online English teacher is from Arizona, the US. One day she sent me a message and said that she had lost her voice. She couldn't continue to teach me in a formal way. As I booked many of her lessons, she let me either reschedule the lessons to the time she recovered or cancel all the lessons.
She also told me that the worst choice might be teaching me in silence and only by sending me messages.
I accepted the last choice without much hesitation. I wanted to try and see how it would go.
So far I have had several silent lessons from her and I think it went well.
All I need my teacher to do is listen to me and tell me about my mistakes. That is enough. Although these two kinds of online lessons sound ridiculous, I can accept them.
Learning languages doesn't depend on teachers, but on learners themselves. If you don't study hard, no matter how perfect online lessons are, you won't make progress.

If he wanted to get his eyes to get better? What is the difference compared with “if he wanted to get his eyes better” ?
It is just a collocation we use in English :3 "I hope you get better" (from sickness), "Soon my legs will get better and I'll be able to walk again!". It doesn't make grammatical sense what you wrote before. Hope this helps
