My first workplace is in a county, Jiashan, which is located in the east central part of Anhui province, and borders a county of Jiangsu province.
Jiashan is on a small hill, roads in it are not even, so we can't ride bikes. There was no public transportation either, we could only walk.
Only about six or seven staff members in my work unit and three of us lived in our work place, including me.
The other two people are local. One of them was our leader, the other was my colleague, who was assigned to that department in the same year as me.
The three of us ate together for a while. We shared the same amount of money together monthly, bought food and cooked food in turn.
There was no tap water, we had to take water from a deep well or just collect rain. Taking water from a deep well with a single bucket really needs skills.
I shared a room with that young guy. In the cold winter we slept in the same bed and put a lot of rice straw under the mat to keep warm.
Our work was not too busy. We often sang a little and sometimes we went to the theatre to watch performances or went to the spot ground to skate.
I couldn't skate as skilled as others no matter how hard I tried. I fell down many times and it really hurt.
Every time after skating, I got very sweaty. Drinking two bottles of orange juice was the necessary thing I always did.
Working away from my hometown was not a good feeling. I had different accents. They could easily tell I was not a local. I often felt like I was

Fortunately, I finally transferred to my home town with the help of my family and relatives, but I still can remember everything while I work there. After all, I spent my best four years there, 18 to 22 years old.
