“Today his business developed on such a large scale.”
I don't know if this sentence is correct, but I have a question in this sentence, "today" means present tense, but "developed" is past tense. Therefore, does this sentence have a tense problem?

It makes sense to me. It implies that the business developed earlier that day. You could also say "Today his business will develop on such a large scale" which would imply that the development will happen later that day.
