Back in 1998, I bought my first apartment. It is located in the southern part of Fuyang and it is very close to the south bus station of the city. At that time, the apartment price was about 500 CN yuan per square meters and it was covered with 92 square meters, so it cost more than 40 thousand CN yuan. I didn’t have that much money then, so I borrowed about half of the total costs of the apartment. Ten years later, it was about 2011 or 2012. That was the second time I bought apartments. This time I bought two. Because it was a certain unit that raised funds to build apartments, the price was only around three thousand yuan per square meters. (The market apartment price then was about six thousand yuan per square meters). The big one covers 140 square meters and the small one covers 120 square meters. In 2018, it was the third time I bought an apartment and this is the time I bought an apartment at the peak price because it was the time that the highest house price in China. Including the parking space, the price was as high as 12 thousand yuan per square meters. This apartment cost me more than 1.4 million yuan. If there are no special circumstances, I wouldn’t buy apartments in my life again because it is enough for me to live and I don’t have much money either.
Back in 1998, I bought my first apartment.
It iwas located in the southern part of Fuyang and it iwas very close to the south bus station of the city.
Even if the apartment you once had is still there, you should use past tense here.
I didn’t have that much money then, so I borrowed about half of the total costs of the apartment.
Ten years later, it wasFast forward ten years, to about 2011 or 2012.
Or "I lived there for about ten years, until 2011 or 2012."
That was the second time I bought apartments.
This time I bought two.
Because it was a certainspecial unit that raised fundshad been part of a fundraising project to build apartments, the price was only around three thousand yuan per square meters.
(The market price for an apartment price then was about six thousand yuan per square meters).)
The big one coverlarger of the two was 140 square meters and the small one coverer was 120 square meters.
Again, keep the tense past even if the apartments still exist.
In 2018, it was the third time I bought an apartment and this is the time I bought an apartment at the peak price because it was the time that the highest house price in ChinaI bought an apartment for the third time. This time, housing prices in China were at their all-time highest so it cost me a lot of money.
Saying you bought it at peak price and that housing prices were at their peak is a bit redundant. Do you mean that it was the highest price that you ever paid?
There are lots of fun English idioms for "a lot of money". My favorites are "a pretty penny" or "an arm and a leg". Other options are "a tidy sum", "big money", or "a handsome sum".
Including the parking space, the price was as high asnearly 12 thousand yuan per square meters.
"as high as" with prices is used for theoretical prices, but not what you actually paid. So you could say "apartment prices were as high as 12 thousand yuan...", but for the actual price you you paid, say "nearly", "over", or, if you want to emphasize how expensive it was, something like "the price was an astounding 12 thousand yuan"
This apartment cost me more than 1.4 million yuan.
IfUnless there are no specialextenuating circumstances, I wouldn’t buyn't be buying apartments in my life again because ithe one I have now is enough for me to live and I don’t have much money either.
