Japanese educational system

You may have heard about Japanese educational system, but it is very different from those in Europe or the US. First of all, in japan, everything is strict. For example, when you talk to someone older than you, you have to be very polite. This “strictness” can also be seen in the educational system, because you need to study really hard to get into a university. Some students study so hard that they do not care about anything else. This is not a good thing because you need to learn the importance of contributing to society or of stating your opinions in high school by doing volunteer works or having speech contests. Some people say Japanese people are modest, and it is one aspect of Japanese culture, but in my opinion, this is not only because of Japanese culture, it is also because they did not learn how to avoid being modest in high school. We need to change this system to let them learn things that are much more helpful than just memorizing lots of mathematical formulas.

Thank you!

The Japanese educational system

"Educational" is fine, but it's not necessary and in some contexts, it can sound wordy. Either is fine, so I just wanted to let you know that you can write it as "educational" or "education."

It's a bit difficult at first to get the connection between "'strictness' in the education system" and "you need to study hard", so this helps you make the transition smoothly.
