“I was really tired today” would imply you were tired all day, even before you started hiking.
I captured some videos and pictures. I captured some videos and pictures.
“Captured” is an unusual verb when the object includes “pictures.” “Took” would be more common:
“I took some videos and pictures.”
The object of “capture” is usually not a video or picture itself, but the subject of the video or picture:
“I captured some interesting scenes on camera.”
(“On camera” can mean either still photos or videos, or both.”

I was curious about this use of "capture" after reading @JoeTofu's comment.
From what I read on the internet, it is a good use of the verb to say "captured some videos" especially if you are going to edit and post them later. "Capturing photos" can also be used. I think these may be more technically exact words, and most of us who are not as into photography as you are, @Tammy, would probably say "took," as Joe suggested.
I learn something every day on this site.
