Is it worth studying history?

There are a lot of discussions about whether it is worth studying history. Some people claim that studying history is a waste of time and we shouldn't spend our life on such useless things. I totally disagree with this notion. I believe we can learn a lot of valuable information by studying history.
First of all, history provides us with a great framework for comprehending present events. History shows us the roots and causes of the events unfolding in the present. We can acquire insight into the functioning of political, economic, and social systems which influence us all across the board.
It shows us the tragedies which our ancestors went through and helps us to identify their premises. Examining the atrocities of the past reminds us about the importance of safeguarding human rights, urges us to strive for a more tolerant and peaceful society, and prompts us to use non-violent methods of solving conflicts.
Besides that, history can be a gateway to other cultures. We can learn a lot of compelling information about the people whose mindset and mentality are different from ours. Interaction with various cultures expands our worldview and broadens our understanding of the world in its diversity.
All in all, studying history gives us a guide to current challenges and can warn us of the dangers ahead. Personally, I think that having at least a basic understanding of history is essential for a well-rounded person.

You may use 'which' but it is not necessary. I guessed what you meant by 'premises.'

Examining the atrocities of the past reminds us about the importance of safeguarding human rights, urges us to strive for a more tolerant and peaceful society, and prompts us to use non-violent methods of solving conflictsfor conflict resolution.

'Of solving conflicts' is grammatically correct, but I replaced it with the common expression 'conflict resolution.'
