There's a zero-gravity area where an energy beam runs through it, sending debris toward a furnace. In that place, there is a locked door, and behind it is a room where you can find what you are looking for. However, you can’t get access to it just yet. You’ve got to first clear out the boulders floating around the area before restoring the gravity back to normal. A simple way to get rid of them is to throw them into the beam, which will take them away for smelting.
Once gravity's back on, the failsafe gets lifted, the room unlocks, and you're free to loot the hell out of it. Grab the key you need to get into the control room — it’s lying on the floor.
With it in hands, time to go get the SOS beacon that It’s in the storage room on the Mining Sub Deck.
Heading for the objective, you’ll stumble across a room with a gondola. Ride it to reach the other side. Upon arriving, Nicole finally shows up after so long on a platform you can't get to. Despite this, she helps you out by trying to disable the storage room lock using a panel from where she’s. It can take a while, and some necromorphs come to attack her, so cover her ass until she’s done. After unlocking the door, Nicole says comforting things to you and leaves.
Pick up the beacon. You'll need to attach it to a massive, mined asteroid secured in place by gravity tethers. Once the tethers are disabled and the beacon's attached, all that's left is to launch the asteroid from the control room.
