[PLEASE HELP!] Interview Questions for Billiard Conference

I'm not sure about "billiard", but I'm not very familiar with the topic so it might be okay. I think you probably mean carom billiards, and I would probably expect "billiards conference" rather than "billiard".

1. You had the highest Shot Success Rate in the last season and led your team to victory.

"in the last season" is okay but this is a bit more natural.

But you recently suffered an injury and were absent in the first match of this season.

How is your condition now?

2. XX Bank Team showed an excellent teamwork in the last season, taking the first place in the regular league.

I think this is because "teamwork" is uncountable. Again, "the first place" is okay but "first place" is more natural.

As a leader, what do you believe was the biggest factor that contributed to theat success?

You might consider if "as the leader" is more appropriate. Of course if the team has more than one leader, this is correct. But if he's the only leader, then "as a leader" puts more focus on how he is one leader among many, how he is the same as the leaders of other teams. So it's more "As someone who is in a leadership position" rather than "As *the* person who leads *this* team".

"The success" is okay but better that success, your success, the team's success.

3. XX Bank showed a great play in the final round for the championship.

Same as before, I think because "play" is uncountable.

However, XX team (the other team) took the first after a close match.

Did you feel that XX Bank's performance could have been better in someany way ?

Subtle, but "any" fits a little better here.

If you felt that there was any weakness that could have been addressed, have you and your team worked to improve it?

This was all very clear and easy to understand - if I saw a sports journalist asking these questions I would notice nothing wrong :)

Did you feel that XX Bank's performance could have been better in someany way ?

There should be "any" because it is a question. We use "some" only in polite questions, such as "Would you like some coffee?" In all other questions though, we use "any".

@secretpostman can correct me if my reasoning is wrong here.

Totally correct reasoning and a very safe rule to follow. I didn't expect it to be so simple, so I didn't try to find it :)

Sometimes people do use "some" like this, though, so it sounds like a subtlety rather than an error. I think maybe it suggests a belief that there *is* some whatever. If you google "is there some way", for example, you'll find a lot of people saying it. They are probably people who thought "there MUST be some way to do this" before asking "is there some way to do this?"

Or another one, when I originally read it I thought about a university professor trying to guide me to the answer. "Is there some method you could use to simplify this?" - probably there IS a method and she knows it and she thinks I should know it. "any" would be the safe choice but there's a reason she chose not to use it.

So definitely follow the rule but it's one of those that you can expect to see people break occasionally!
