Operation Blue Star was the codename of an India military action carried out between 1 and 8 June 1984 to capture Sikh leader Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his followers along with the demolition of the building of Harmandir Sahib ( Golden Temple) in Amritsar Punjab.
