My Views on the Terracotta Army

The Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, one of the most famous tourist attractions worldwide, also honored as the Eighth Wonder of the World, amazed me at first sight with its enormous scale and exquisite workmanship. The soldiers stood still, line after line, guarding their grand emperor faithfully.
It was then that I started to have a new perspective of their dynasty rather than simply considering the Qin Dynasty as a harsh time for its people to get through under a cruel dictator.
It was he who unified the realms and brought temporary peace to the citizens, who had suffered too much from the battles before. If I were one of the ordinary people back in that time, I’d be no less grateful. It was for various historical purposes that Qin Shi Huang was identified just as a dictator, but we people from modern society shall not be blinded. It is important to view things in a more objective way and compare different evidence to get closer to the hidden truth. We might not be able to get there in the end, but at least we’ll get closer, and it’s better than being mindless followers of the purposeful politicians from the past.

秦始皇的兵马俑是世界上最著名的旅游景点之一，也被誉为世界第八大奇迹，其巨大的规模和精湛的工艺让我第一眼就感到惊讶。士兵们一排又一排地耸立于此，忠实地守护着他们伟大的皇帝。

就在那时，我开始对他们的王朝有了新的认识，而不只是将秦朝视为一段其人民在残酷的独裁者统治下度过的艰难时期。

是他统一了王国，给公民带来了暂时的和平，他们之前在战斗中遭受了太多痛苦。如果我是那个时代的普通人之一，我也会心存感激。出于各种历史目的，秦始皇被认定为独裁者，但我们现代社会的人不应当被矇蔽。重要的是，要以更客观的方式看待事物，并比较不同的证据，以更接近隐藏的真相。我们最终可能无法到达真理的彼岸，但至少我们会更接近，这比成为过去那些有目的的政客的无意识追随者要好。
