I'm on fire

I randomly choose words, expressions, phrasal verbs, etc. from my flash cards and my task is to incorporate them into meaningful sentence(s) or a short story.

Random words; MATEY, YOU KINDA ARE

I still can’t understand why I was fired.
To my mind, I was concise, polite and even matey to all of them, wasn’t I?
Well, you kinda were.
You politeness was outstanding, but for the next time you’d like to make some suggestions for company to improve, please, don’t do it on the Board of Directors Meeting completely naked.

Corrections

In my mind, not to my mind. In this sentence, "matey" doesn't make much sense - however, I'm American, and this might work in other dialects of English.

I'm not a native English speaker, that's why your correction is important for me. Thanks. I want to sound more natural.

I looked it up and I think it's fine in other dialects, but it won't sound natural in America. Just depends on what you want! :)
