With every positive, there are negative, a saying from my mother comes to mind:" A warm bed only feeds indolence." For an example of my mother's words, look no further than the Democrat-led state of California. Democrats are metaphorically making up this bed for lazy Californians to lie in. They are doing this by pouring funding to build apartments for only charge peppercorn rents as a mite of return, and providing free food, and subsides pile money to per homeless. A report shows that during the pandemic, the state government has been paying for homeless people to live in four-star hotels. These measures are like a slap in the face to hard-working people and taxpayers. For the Democrats, this is a smart way of currying favor with poor people and winning votes. But the cost will be high in the future. Young people will be negatively motivated by the idea that they can reap without sowing, so to speak. For now, the majority of homeless people don't need to worry about their lives. If they urinate in public, they will get what they want. Like my mother said, " The squeaky wheel gets the grease ". Some people have joked that that is how social progress is made, and I agree. But in all seriousness, in the long term, this situation will become a serious social concern.

--- I want to say, the poor use their way to fight what they desire without any sowing. The poor and some homeless just pee in front of the government official, as one of their ways, to attract government attends and social media camera.

1. Your original sentence isn’t grammatically perfect, but I can definitely understand it so I’ll just correct that one :)
“They are doing this by increasing funding to build affordable housing (apartments) that serves the poor, as well as providing free food and subsidies of more than three hundred dollars per week to the homeless.”
N.B. no comma after “food” because the “providing” has to apply to both “free food” and “subsidies“, if that makes sense? So you shouldn’t separate them with a comma :)
2. I’m really sorry, I don’t understand your explanation either :( but I think the way to make that sentence clearer is to include your explanation in the sentence, as it’s not obvious how they will “get what they want” by peeing in the street!
