The graphic illustrates in percentage terms the changing patterns of domestic access to modern technology in homes in the UK. If we look at the graphic, we can see that four different technological devices are selected.
CD players have the highest percentage, it starts with 60 percent in 1996/97 and increases approximately 82 percent in 2002/2003. Internet access is the sole component that the start point takes place in the graphic but it sharply increases from approximately 10 percent to 45 percent, especially between 2000/2002 periods. Home computer has a constant increase from approximately 25 percent towards almost 45 percent.
Mobile phones have the most dramatical waves in this graphic. It starts with 18 percent and there is a slightly increase between 1996 and 1998. After 1999, there is a jump off from approximately 25 percent to almost 45 percent but it remains steady for the second half of this period. Dramatical increase repeats in first half of 2000-2002 period. After 2001, percentage of mobile phones reaches approximately 65 percent and continues slightly increase.
To sum up, after the mobile phones and internet access modern technology in homes in the UK significantly changed. This graphic shows the obvious truth to examiners.
