IELTS Writing - Cambridge12 - Test 6

There is two maps of Islip town centre that depict how it currently looks like and how will it looks like in the future.

If you take a quick glance at the maps, you can see that significant number of developments are planned. These developments include dual carriageway, new housing areas, a bus station etc.

If you compare two maps, you can easily notice the modification on roads. In the first map, east-west main road divides the town centre in two sides and it locates in the middle of shopping area. Cars might be dangerous for pedestrians while shopping. To overcome this problem, a dual carriageway surround all the town will be builded.

Another difference between two maps is the countryside. In the first map, there is countryside in the northern part of of the town but in the second map you can clearly see that the town centre will be enlarged and the countryside will be replaced with a new bus station, a shopping centre, a new car park etc.

There will be minor changes in the southern part of the town. The school and the housing will remain in their original places and an additional housing will be build next to the park.

There isare two maps of Islip town centre that depict how it currently looks like and howand what it will it looks like in the future.

If you take a quick glance at the maps, you can see that a significant number of developments are planned.

These developments include a dual carriageway, new housing areas, a bus station, etc.

If you compare two maps, you can easily notice the modification on roads.

"If you compare two maps, you can easily see the changes in the road network". ?

In the first map, the principal east-west main road divides the town centre into two sides and it locates ingoes through the middle of the main shopping area.

Cars mightcan be dangerous for pedestrians while shopping.

To overcome this problem, a dual carriageway surround alling the town will be buildedt.

Another difference between two maps is the camountrysid of open space.

In the first map, there is countrysideundeveloped land in the northern part of of the town but in the second map you can clearly see that the town centre will be enlarged and the countrysideland will be replaced with a new bus station, a shopping centre, a new car park etc, and more.

"Etc." implies that the reader already knows what follows. "and more" has a similar meaning, but doesn't assume the reader knows what "more" is. It's better writing to define it, like ",... and other public developments."

There will only be minor changedevelopments in the southern part of the town.

The school and the housing will remain in their original places and anlocations, with some additional housing willto be buildt next to the park.
