IELTS Writing - Cambridge 16 - Test 1

There are two charts that connected with each other. The first chart illustrates the changes in ownership of electrical appliance from 1920 to 2019 and the second chart shows the number of hours that households spend for housework per week between the same years.

According to first chart, you can see that a historical technologic transform happens from 1920 to 1960. Households can reach electrical devices easier and that decreases the amount of time they spend for housework.

An interesting point is that we can see the invention of refrigerators and their dramatical increase from zero to hundred percent. Refrigerators become indispensable in only 60 years.

The next point is the vacuum cleaners. After 2000, hundred percent of households have a vacuum cleaner. The sole electrical appliance that not every household have, is the washing machine. Only 75 percent of households have a washing machine.

To sum up, we can clearly see the electrical appliance decreases the time people spend for housework and make their life easier. The time they spend for housework takes half of the week in 1920s, but in 2019 we can see that the housework takes only 10 percent and they can spent this time for social activities or working.

The first chart illustrates the changes in ownership of electrical appliances from 1920 to 2019 and the second chart shows the number of hours that households spend for/on housework per week between the same years.

I would write 'on' or 'on doing' here.

According to first chart, you can see that a historical technological transformation happens from 1920 to 1960.

you can see that a historical technological transformation takes place between* 1920 and* 1960

Households can reachrely on electrical devices easiermore and that decreases the amount of time they spend foron housework.

'reaching appliances easier' doesn't really mean anything. Households have better access to electrical appliances. Households use electrical appliances more often.

An interesting point is thaturning point we can see is from the invention of refrigerators and their dramatical increase from zero to one hundred percent.

I can't see the chart so not quite sure how to describe this.

Refrigerators have become indispensable in only 60 years.

The next point is the(significant) point is the introduction of vacuum cleaners.

or significant turning point / point of interest

After (the year) 2000, one hundred percent of households now have a vacuum cleaner.

The sole electrical appliance that not every household have,s is the washing machine.

To sum up / In summary, we can clearly see theat the (use of) electrical appliance(s) decreases the amount of time people spend foron housework and makes their lifeves easier.

It would be 'lives' as you are talking about many 'people'. In summary is another option but both work!

The time they spend foron housework takes up half of the week in the 1920s, but in 2019 we can see that the housework takes up only 10 percent of the week* (and they can spentd this time for social activities or working.)

*or a new sentence here - This frees up time which can be used for social activities or working.
