I was making a mess (21)

I went to eat a new dessert with my American friend.

The dessert was a crispy pie with cheese cream and it was really good.

However, the pie was so crispy and crumbly that the some pieces went into a wrong pipe and I coughed a lot.

I made a mess on my jacket with the crumbles, and I was so embarrassed.

My friend asked me that what do you say "You are making a mess in Japanese?"

I said that I would say お前めっちゃきたないなあ, but honestly I wasn't sure about it.

The direct translation would be 君は汚しちゃってるねえ, but I've never heard of Japanese people saying that.

I guess I would just say 汚いなあ

I won't go to eat the pie anymore.

その友達が "You are making a mess"って日本語でなんて言う?

Feedback

I understand the embarassment.
When I was a kid and would get ice cream with my mom she would say, "When you're older don't take someone on a date for ice cream." That's because my mouth would be covered in chocolate ice cream and it would melt down my hands, lol. Needless to say, I've never gone on a date to get ice cream. ^^;

Thank you so much for your correction and sharing your old memory. That sounds cute. I like watching children their mouth covered in ice cream. That's so cute and I understand because ice cream is tasty!

Thank you so much for your correction! Yes, it was so good!

However, the pie was so crispy and crumbly that the some pieces went into adown the wrong pipe and I coughed a lot.

You could also write '"into the," but we often use "down the wrong pipe" when talking about this situation.

I made a mess on my jacket with the crumbles, and I was so embarrassed.

Small pieces of bread or pastry or similar foods are called "crumbs" in English :)

Aw, if the pie tasted good, then I hope you go back to eat it again sometime! You'll just have to be careful of the crumbs and your jacket, that's all. :)
