When you just say "Mom" it actually acts like a name/title, so you also have to capitalize it actually--it's a bit weird haha.
For example when you say my mom like this : "My mom really hates washing dishes" you don't need to cap mom.
But when you say "He told me that Mom really hates washing dishes" you need to cap mom.

Capitalize the first letter in the first word of each sentence, and again place a space after periods and commas. Remember to put "is a/an" when describing something, like in 'my mom is a house wife, and my father is retired.' For the sentence 'My favorite place sea', you need to say "is" but also add "the" before the noun to be more natural.
