I've been days off recently, I built a oven in a iron barrel by myself.
Firstly, I checked some tutorials related to this home made oven in a barrel from Youtube website. Then mixed some cement, clays with water, put on the inside wall of barrel. Finally stick some fire-resistance block on the top of clay.
It spent me around 6 hours to finish the small project. I felt happy and sang a song to cheer it up when saw some wood fired in the new born oven.

If something is really famous, you can use it on its own usually. "Youtube website" is not wrong though
Then I mixed some cement, clays with water, pu with wet clay, and put it on the inside wall of the barrel.
Finally, I stiuck some fire-resistancet blocks on the top of clay.
You could use "put" instead of "stuck" here as well.
In my opinion:
- "Put" sounds like you did it with care and thought
- "Stuck" sounds like you did without thinking too much
It spenttook me around 6 hours to finish theis small project.
I felt happy and sang a song to cheer it upelebrate when I saw some wood firedburning in the new born oven.
Regarding "new born oven" - you could say "newly born oven," but I think it sounds very dramatic. I'm not sure if you wanted to be dramatic on purpose though :)

'firstly' is an uncommon word to say or write. It's still used, but you should favor 'first'.

"to cheer it up" = "to make it happy when it was sad"
