How to write a formal PhD application letter?
Recently, I wanna apply for a PhD position at CityU HONG KONG, but I have never written a formal application letter before. So, if anyone has some such experience, would you tell me something about that or teach me to write a formal English CV? I appreciate it a lot!

How to write a formal PhD application letter?
Recently, I wannahave wanted to apply for a PhD position at CityU HONG KONGthe City University of Hong Kong, but I have never written a formal application letter before.
“Recently” suggests that this occurred or began to occur in the past, so we must use the present perfect.
“CityU Hong Kong” sounds strange. Either “CityU,” assuming that the reader already knows what it refers to, or the formal name would be better.
So, if anyone has some such experience, would you tell me something about that or teach me to write a formal English CV?
