We live in the 21st century and I have the thought that I don't need many friends as parents had back in thier day.
Those were days when without social connections you were limited in what you could do.
I know that having many friends in current years as necessary as it was back then.
But now we have less stimul to go outside and try to interact with others but we should do it!
I've found a great youtube channel that is all about this. It is called "Discover Connection".
There are two friends from Canada in that channel travel all over America, trying to find new acquaintances.
I do like how friendly they are and it's so unussual to see people with open minds.

Well done. When you are making comparisons, you want to write "as good as - - -". For example, "friends are as important as family" or "peanut butter is as good as jam".
We live in the 21st century and I have the thought that I don't need as many friends as parents had back in thieir day.
"have the thought" is present tense, and also not a common expression (people would use "I think" instead. You can use "have thought" as the past tense, which using the verb thought instead of the noun though. Given later in your writing, you indicate your mind has changed, I think you wanted past tense here.
I know that having many friends in current yearss still as necessary as it was back then.
But now we have less stimulincentives to go outside and try to interact with others but we should do it!
"stimuli" I think is the word you were going for, but it's not really right in this context. It's a pretty scientific word, so it's strange to use in normal conversation, but also when talking about things that cause you to do something, incentive is a better word.
There are two friends from Canada ion that channel who travel all over America, trying to find new acquaintances.
We talk about people being "on" radio, nonfiction TV shows, youtube, podcasts, etc. (Though we say people are "in" films and fictional TV shows)
I do like how friendly they are and it's so unussual to see people with (such) open minds.
"with such open minds" would imply that the presenters or other people on the show have very open minds, while "with open minds" would imply that people with open minds are very rare, which comes off as harsher than you maybe intended?
