Help me get started

I found this site from a Reddit post. I am learning German and am at at weak A2 level. I read every day. I speak with a partner in Germany over video once per week. I listen to some videos on YouTube. I don't get a lot of writing practice.

I set up my account here, and I was hoping to find a tutorial or FAQ. Are there any instructions on how to use this tool?

I expect that I didn't even make this post the right way. Maybe I'm supposed to be writing in German here and give my native English version in the box below?

Sorry, I just marked all your sentences as correct. It doesn't affect your "ratio" at all, but it helps me out a little :)

Anywho, welcome to LangCorrect!

To answer your question, yes! You write your entry in the language you're learning and add the native English version in the other box. The second part is optional, but I definitely recommend it, especially when you're just starting out.

I mentioned the "ratio" earlier. That's basically the ratio of the "number of sentences you correct" to the "number of sentences you've written."
You need to keep your ratio above a certain number. This motivates folks to correct other entries too, which I personally love.

Hope this helps! Good luck and have fun! :)

Thanks. That's helpful. I corrected an English post, yesterday. It very well could have been a native English speaker. Is there a way to know the native language of the person posting?
