Jag tror att jag behöver att skriva något om varför jag vill lära mig engelska. Eller det är vad det sa, i alla fall. Tja, jag tycker att engelska är ett kul språk eftersom nästan alla förstår det. Det är ett bra sätt att kommunicera med människor runt världen. Jag tror att det är okej om det här meddelandet är kort, så jag stoppar det här. Tack för att läsa.

It's unclear what "det" is, that told you to write this. I've changed this to "vad som stod [i uppgiften]" = "what was written [in the assignment]"

"jag stoppar det här" implies that you are causing something to stop, that would otherwise continue without you (e.g. a stopwatch, a person approaching you etc)

Even though there are situations were you can use "läsa" intransitively (i.e. where the act of reading itself is what matters, and not what is being read), here it feels strange to not specify e.g. "mitt inlägg" ("my post"/"my entry")

One thing I forgot to mention when correcting this: "behöver" implies that you "need" to do this. In combination with the "tror" at the start of the sentence, I get the impression that you perceive this as a need for yourself, even if you aren't entirely certain. I.e. I don't understand this as some external task. Without context, I might read this as something along the lines of "I think it would be good for me to write something about [...]".
If, on the other hand, this is an external assignment or similar, you could write e.g.
"Jag måste skriva något [...]" (="I have to write something [...]") or "Jag förväntas skriva något [...]" ("I am expected to write something [...]").
