I set up more than 4 alarms on my phone for waking up earlier this morning and studying on my school project that waiting on the my desk for a long time. Just as i expected, i dismissed all of them, and kept sleeping.

waiting is also fine! sitting just sounds a bit better because it's an object, and it wouldn't really be waiting per se.

I know it has been a long time since your comment (I wonder if there are email notifications?), but i just wanted to say that there actually isn't a big difference in this context. "over 4 alarms" means basically the same thing as "more than 4 alarms", just more simple i guess. Also, "set up" is also totally fine. "up" in this case is totally optional. So you could say, "I set up over 4 alarms" or "I set more than 4 alarms" and they would be the same.
At this point, I can't remember why i corrected it that way, sorry about that!

studying is more like looking over your notes for an exam. to work on a project just sounds more natural in this context.
