ME AND MY TIMELESS FRIENDSHIPS

I am never fully satisfied with anything. I don’t think this is a personal flaw; I think it’s an inherent part of being human. I have always wanted more — more success, more happiness, more money. What I failed to notice for a long time was that I should have been full of gratitude for what I already had.

One of the things I am most grateful for now is my dearest friends.

I used to complain about almost all of them. I didn’t realize they were the ones who made my life meaningful. To me, people were always replaceable. I never attached much importance to friendship; friends were changeable, they could enter my life and leave it. That felt normal.

Only after our lives drifted in completely different directions I did understand how deeply I loved them.

Now, they exist everywhere in my life. I don’t see them face to face. I don’t hear their voices. I don’t even text them that often. And yet, I feel them constantly.
In familiar eye colors.
In their names when I hear them.
In certain words I come across while reading — words they used to say the most.

Every night before I sleep, I pray for each of them. When a song that reminds me of one of them starts playing, my thoughts go to them without permission.

There is a quote from the famous song writer Haluk Levent’s song that reflects my feelings.

Even if you’re not beside me
Even if we never meet
Even if you never ask me to
I carry you through life

I run into you on every road
I take you out of time
I dance alone with your echo
Still, I live you…

I wish our paths hadn’t separated. I wish we could see each other every day again. I wish we could be the first people to look at when something happened. I wish we could hug without actually hugging, just with eyes.

This isn’t a friendship breakup. I still love you deeply.
And I hope, somewhere, you feel the same.

Thank you for your feedback:)) I wanted to mean " i love you a lot that i am living you" . Also I unfortunately didn't understand the "I" swap part? Why do we say "did i" instead of "i did",
