I promised myself
I will try digital minimalism. Why? Because I notice that I’m not doing all the things I could do in my daily routine. For example, I promised myself that I would write three times a week in English—texts like this one. But I didn’t. And it isn’t about time. I spend **half an hour a day** on Instagram, just endlessly scrolling on a little screen, watching videos that I don’t even remember later. I feel regret for that.
However, I feel that I can take control of my own life. I could do better and improve myself every day instead of wasting my time, my creativity, my concentration, and my sanity on some Instagram reels. On other social media platforms, this doesn’t happen. Instagram is my biggest enemy—it takes all my attention. On YouTube, I only watch technical videos and tutorials. I don’t even have the patience to watch vlogs or other types of videos. I like to be direct about where I’m going and where I want to be.
Basically, it isn’t about rejecting technology but about using it in the right way—not just being a slave to your own smartphone. We already sleep eight hours a day; it’s absurd not to live during the other sixteen… Well, I think it will be a good try, and next week I will write my three texts—one of them will be about how my experience is going.

Passo **meia hora por dia** no Instagram, apenas rolando sem parar em uma pequena tela, assistindo a vídeos dos quais nem me lembro depois. Sinto arrependimento por isso.
No entanto, sinto que posso assumir o controle da minha própria vida. Eu poderia fazer melhor e me aprimorar a cada dia em vez de desperdiçar meu tempo, minha criatividade, minha concentração e minha sanidade em alguns reels do Instagram. Bem, acho que será uma boa tentativa, e na semana que vem escreverei meus três textos — um deles será sobre como está sendo minha experiência.

It's good that you recognize your weakness(which is Instagram) and now you have the courage to minimize your screen time. I also had this struggle with Tiktok before but I overcame it already.
My suggestion for you is to try to utilize the app limits on your phone. It's where you'll set a specific amount of time when you can use that app. If you usually use it for an hour, then try to set the time to only 50 minutes, then after a week it's 40 minutes. The app will automatically close if you use it longer than the time you set it up.

Beleza! I have done the same, forcing myself to primarily focus on consuming media from my target languages. I feel like my productivity has skyrocketed, I'm more able to form sentences on the fly and feel confident about my abilites.
I think that your text is very wonderful; to improve, I would do the same, reading and listening to materials for native english speakers. For example, I like to read BBc brasil articles or lurk on forums where brazilians chat lol. I am also watching MasterChef Brasil. Good luck!
