Activity title: The title of my activity is “Guess and find the animals”.
Area: With this activity I want to teach vocabulary and pronunciation.
Topic: In particular, the activity focuses on animal names and their pronunciation.
Aims: At the end of this activity my pupils will know the name of animals in English and their correct pronunciation. they will also improve their memory and their collaboration skills.
Target age: This activity is for pupils in the first year of primary school.
Pre-knowledge: Before doing this activity my pupils already know the name of animals, the rules of the mime game and how to play memory game.
Materials: For this activity I found an animal song, and I prepared animal flashcards and a memory game.
Methodology:
First, the children will listen to a song about animal names, to learn their names and to hear their pronunciation.
I can say to the children: "Hi children! How are you? Are you excited for the lesson? Today we’ll start with an animals song. Please listen and pay attention to the name of animals and their pronunciation, because then we will play together"

Then, the teacher will divide the class into two groups: one children from the first group will pick an animal flashcard and will mime the animal, and another children from the second group will try to guess and pronounce the animal. At the end of the flashcards, the children will swap their roles.
I can say to the children: "Now we create 2 groups of 10 children each. Every children from the first group will team up with a child from the second group.
The children of the first group take a flashcards from this box. On the flashcard there are animals image so don’t show it with your teammate! You have to mime the animals and the children of the second group have to guess the animals and says the pronunciation in English."

After this activity, the teacher will propose to the children other activities to improve their competence.
The children will sit in a circle with the teacher.
A pair of children will choose an animal and will try to explain its pronunciation to the other friends (with the teacher's help).
Other children will repeat the animal's name together.
I can say to the children: "Now, sit down in a circle with me. A team will come in the circle, choose an animal and try to explain the pronunciation. Don’t panic, I will help you, then we will repeat the animal name together. "

At the end the children will play a memory game with animals: they have to find the correct pair of animals and pronounce the animal's name correctly.
I can say to the children: "Are you ready for the final game? Do you known memory game, this is a memory game with animal flashcards. Each of you can play, you have to find the correct fair of animals, and then you have to pronounce it correctly!"
