Going to go

1. We intend to go to Dan's. (Dan's place/house).
2. We plan to go to Dan's.
3. We're going to go to Dan's.
Do those sentences mean the same?
Is "going to go " grammatically correct? Or should it be "We're going to Dan's"

Feedback

They do have similar meanings, but I think there's a different nuance.
- "We intend to…" This sounds stronger to me, in terms of conveying the desire to do something.
- "We plan to…" This would suggest that the subject has an actual plan in mind to me.
- "We are going to…" sounds like a more informal version of "We will…" I would also expect it more in relatively informal conversation related to the immediate future.

Do those sentences mean the same thing?

Oor should it be "We're going to Dan's"?

Combine these last two sentences, they should not be split.

Feedback

"Going to go" is grammatically correct, but most people just say "going to". They mean the same thing.

Intend and plan are similar meaning something will probably happen but it isn't happening yet and there is a chance it might not.
Going to is a more like something is definitely happening.
