Glad that i ve found this platform

Hi guys,

first of all, I need to tell you that I am so glad that I have found this platform. I am very grateful for every mistake that is found and I look forward to bringing myself into this community.

So far my English isn´t very advanced. So I need to improve a lot. Currently, I am reading every day 30 pages of my book to learn new vocab. Also, I work with a grammar book which I can recommend a lot. The Name is Longman English Grammar from L.G. Alexander.

Today I muse a lot about punctuation. Mostly I set commas when it feels right, but I imagine I already did a lot of mistakes. If somebody knows a tip for me I would gladly take it.

Until this point, I searched for a method to write my own sentences but also to have someone to tell me what I did wrong.
I have several penpals, but they won't tell me what I did wrong. I hope this is changing with this platform.

Thank you very much and best wishes for the New Year to everybody using langcorrect!

Richard

Have you tried the app Clever Deck - it uses spaced repetition technology but is only for Iphones sadly

The Name isbook is called Longman English Grammar fromby L.G. Alexander.

Mostly I set commas when it feels right, but I imagine I already didhave already made a lot of mistakes.

actually you are doing really well

Until this pointnow, I searched for a method to write my own sentences but also to have someone to tell me what I did wrong.

you could say "up to this point" or "until now"

I hope this iswill changinge with this platform.

I think because change is one thing and so will change is better than is changing as that implies the change will keep changing

sadly I dont have a I phone, but instead of Clever Deck I use the app AnkiDroid. So far I am very satisfied with it. But thank you for your advice. I will search for it.

Can you let me know how you were able to mark a sentence as correct and correct it at the same time? What device/browser are you using?

Glad that i veI found this platform

Hi guys,

first of all, I need to tell you that I am so glad that I have found this platform.

You are glad of an event in your past, i.e. the finding of this platform, hence past tense

Saying "I've found" here doesn't stick out horribly per se, but a native would say as "I found"

Today I musethink a lot about punctuation.

I see what you're trying to convey, but "muse" is just a bit too unnatural to use here; it's rather literary

You could also say "ponder about", but quite frankly "think" is the best option in my opinion

You've come to the right place!

Regarding punctuation, I would take advice "with a pinch of salt". I find that punctuation usages are often personal to the writer, and sometimes someone could be imposing their own style too much on you. For example, in the above passage, I felt tempted to add some commas here and there but I risk being too pedantic and trying to make your write exactly like me.

You're pretty much close to writing naturally, just need to get a good feel for when continuous tense is and isn't appropriate, and past vs present perfect, both of which I understand to be fairly specific to English. It'll definitely come with practice.

thank you very much for your kind but also specific answer. I am very grateful for the time you guys stick into this and hope I can soon give something back in the subpage which regards my mother tongue.
