Getting a Massage in a Foreign Country

Yesterday, I went to a massage parlor opposite the school for a full-body massage. Although it was not the first time I had experienced a full-body massage, I felt uncomfortable throughout the process.

Once I entered the massage room, the masseuse had me get under the sheets and then undress. While I have no problem with nudity, I am ticklish and sensitive to pressure, so I couldn't stop laughing and screaming when the masseuse began touching my body. I told her that I preferred a lighter touch and asked if she could please use a bit less pressure; she said okay. However, even after she adjusted the pressure, it felt as though my ribs were being broken. I asked her to be even gentler, but I still felt like a gigantic elephant was sitting on my body whenever she applied pressure. It was hard for me to describe in English a level that could suit me without causing discomfort, so I gave up communicating after ten minutes. My face was in a hole, and I was pretty sure my saliva dropped onto the floor while I was laughing. I thought I would eventually get used to the feeling, but instead, I was giggling throughout. The masseuse kept saying, "Are you okay? Relax! Relax!" because she couldn't see my face and thought I was sobbing uncontrollably. How bizarre the situation was.

I feel a little bit nervous whenever I get a full-body massage. I don't mind people massaging my back or shoulders, but it feels strange for them to touch the rest of my body, such as my bottom and breasts, as it's quite intimate. I need some time to get used to someone whom I don't know well touching all over my body.

However, I always feel the muscles in my shoulders are stiff and aching, so I plan to get more massages before I go back to Taiwan, since the massage prices there are ten times more expensive compared to here. I will try to be more upfront about my preferences and sensitivities next time.

I'm not sure why you're listed as B1. What you wrote here is not far off native level. It's not just that you wrote correctly; what you wrote is vivid and you conveyed well your discomfort.

Although it was not the first time I had experienced a full-body massage, I felt uncomfortable throughout the process.

"Masseuse" has lately gotten a sort of negative connotation, though I can't exaplain what kind of connotation without getting banned lol.

I understand your experience! I bet it wasn't an issue with communication. I've heard some massage therapists don't really listen to your feedback, so maybe try a different place or person.

Yesterday, I went to a massage parlor opposite the school for a full-body massage.

a school/my school/the school near my house etc. would sound more natural - "the" implies the reader knows what particular school you are referring to, but in this context it sounds odd as there is no previous mention of a school
