Is Social Media More harmful than helpful ?
In my opinion, it depends how we uses social media. Social media has many different uses like entertain oneself, education , business and connecting the people from all around the world. Using social media for just entertainment purposes is underestimating its capabilities. Excessive doomscrolling will cause nothing but wasting one's precious time. I didn't know that there is a thing like doomscrolling, now I am avoiding it as much as possible. Now I am trying to focus more on making most out of it by upgrading my skillset.

Social media definitely has its advantages and disadvantages. Many people nowadays use it for entertainment and self-gratification. They chase things like clout and get satisfaction from metrics such as "Likes" and "Upvotes" from shallow interactions with strangers. With politics, the spread of misinformation and disinformation via social media has become a problem in the digital age. However, it can be used positively to connect people. For instance, I'm able to connect with my relatives in Vietnam because of social media and see what they're up to. I do agree, how we use social media plays a big role in whether it has a positive or negative impact.

There's no shortcut but practicing all four skills - reading, writing, listening, and speaking - as much as you can! Apps like hellotalk or tandem can help you find people to practice one on one conversation if you don't have real people near you.
