In some posh areas, there are self-checkout systems, and we do not rely on small convenience stores open 24 hours; we rely on big supermarket chains, which we buy from usually on Sundays because there are 6 work days in India, and we make the groceries work for a week, and go buy again, but some families can go up to weeks or even months.
