On July 23, 2021, the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics was carried out with spectators banned. When it started, I was jogging in the park instead of watching it. Although it was a cool, windy night that was fit for a jog or a walk, there were much fewer people than usual in the park. Presumably, they were watching the ceremony on TV after all, in spite of the fact that opinion polls showed that many Japanese were opposed to holding the Games during the pandemic. Personally, I feel we should enjoy that once-in-a-lifetime experience in which the Olympic Games are held in our country without being too cynical, once it has started.

On July 23, 2021, the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics was carried outheld with spectators banned.

This just sounds slightly more natural, the original is fine.

When it started, I was jogging in the park instead of watching it.

Presumably, they were watching the ceremony on TV after all, in spite of the fact that opinion polls showed that many Japanese were opposed to holding the Games during the pandemic.

Personally, I feel that since it's already started, we should just enjoy thate once-in-a-lifetime experience in whichof having the Olympic Games are held in our country without being too cynical, once it has started.

This sounds more natural.
