We have wet weather with showers almost all the time. Pouring rains are also not rare. Nonetheless, I like that we have relatively mild summers and winters, in spite of it the weather is changeable and may reach extreme levels on some days. In spring, it is cool, but not cold. There may be one or two heavy rains, but not more. During winter, the weather is gray and cold, but the nastiest thing isn't the low temperatures, but the strong wind that blows cold in your face. In autumn, it often rains lightly, and the weather is quite humid. In summer, there are often thunderstorms, but the rest of the time, the sun is almost always out.

I'm grateful for the correction, but I don't understand what grammar rule should be applied here.

"Rain" is not a countable thing. "Downpours" (pouring rain) and "rain showers" are countable. e.g. Incorrect: "There were two rains today". Correct: "There were two downpours today". So "pouring rains are..." doesn't sound right. But you can say "downpours are also not rare" and "heavy rain showers are also not rare." I am unsure what the grammer rule is, I just know how it sounds to me.
