FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS

What have you been doing for the last/ past few weeks?

I was on holiday in Spain for one and a half weeks.

After I returned home, I've been spending my time shopping and going to the cinema.

Could you tell me In what situations it is better to use FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS than FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS?

FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS

What have you been doing for the last/ past few weeks?

I was on holiday in Spain for onea week and a half weeks.

I think you could say ‘one and a half weeks,’ it’s just that I’d never personally phrase it that way

After I returned homeSince I got back, I've been spending my time shopping and going to the cinema.

Again I don’t think the way you phrased it is inherently wrong, its just that the way I phrased it sounds more natural to me. Also I’d never say ‘cinema’ because I’m not British lol

Could you tell me In what situations it is better to use FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS than FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS?

Honestly I think they’re pretty much interchangeable - I don’t think there’s that much of a tangible difference. Maybe I’d go with ‘past few weeks’ more often but that may just be me.

Feedback

Good job on the journal! I haven’t seen any movies for the longest time, which is weird now that I think about it because I used to watch them l the time. For the last two weeks I’ve just been reading stuff, going to work, and gardening. Maybe it’s time to watch something new - any recommendations?

Sorry I noticed I made a typo in my comment, it should be “I used to watch them all the time”
