Maybe you can talk about something interesting that happened, even if it’s kind of minor. If you see your teacher or conversation partner very frequently though, it’s definitely easy to run out of topics, unfortunately.

Books, movies, and TV shows can be a good source for topics, since it's their job to be entertaining. :)
