I bought a secondhand book about English proverbs, which came with two CDs. Unfortunately, one of the CDs had scratches on the reading side and couldn’t be played. With little expectation, I contacted the seller, attached a photo of the damaged CD, and asked if they could replace it. They couldn’t provide a replacement, but they kindly agreed to give me a refund.
Now I’ve got my money back, but I’m not sure what to do with the book. The book itself and the other CD are in good condition. I suppose the only option is to buy a new copy, but should I throw this one away? Since I dislike being wasteful, I feel stuck.

Well done! Could it be possible to e-mail the publisher and ask for a digital copy of the broken CD's contents? I wouldn't expect too much out of it, but it might be worth a try.
