I am not sure if she is out of her mind, or if this is a normal thing in the Duolingo universe.

AIn that world, a talking bear exists, so it canould be the latter.

The original sentence version sounds like you're talking about the real world and not the Duolingo universe:
Talking bears do exist in real life, so it could be the latter.

It’s a questionable decision to include these kinds of confusing sentences in learning material.

I think they're included in order to make the process more engaging, but I do see how it could be confusing.

I commend you on getting these in the right order: "language learning related", it's natural but it still reads a bit awkwardly. Conversely, when spoken, that part of the sentence would be both completely natural and clear.

When you say "not only Duolingo", you have to provide an alternative somewhere:
I want to stream other language learning activities, not only Duolingo.
