There are many resources that researchers use to implement their work. However, it is critically important for them to choose and refer to an appropriate source of information. In my view, it is better to use printed material other than the internet for doing research. I feel this way for two reasons which I will provide in the following essay.
To begin with, books and paper-based-sources are more authentic than the material found in the internet. For a book to be published, it has to pass through serious of checking processes to avoid the poor content and to increase reliably of it. Additionally, in the back of the book we can find references that the author used for supporting his/her opinion. The content of the intranet, however, does not necessarily provide references and/or being plagiarized. I think my personal experience is a compelling example of this. Four years ago, I had a biology class and my teacher asked to help him doing his research on some specific type of plant that grown near the west beach of my city. I was excited and wanted to help my professor doing that, so I went to the library and start researching on Wikipedia. In the next day, I showed up my work to him and then he questioned me about the source that I bring information from. When I told him about it, he was nervous and angry, but he tried to calm him self down. After that, he gave me a lesson about my mistake and told me what's the proper resources should I use for this type of work.
Secondly, a researcher needs to provide references for his argument and thoughts. Consequently, the arguments and points presented in the research paper needs to be supported by a reliable source, which cannot be extracted from an article found in one of the websites. This is obvious because the content of the internet does not require any kind of proof! Everyone can write and argue without any statistics and data that assist his writing. For instance, about ten years ago, I read an article claiming that life on earth will end on 2010, and was scared that time, but when I grow up, I learnt to not believe this type of claim that presented without any proof.
In conclusion, I highly recommend researchers using reliable sources and means such as books and well-proofed articles. This is because they are more genuine in the scientific community, and because they would be trustworthy references to extract from.
