Fast-food
Demain, je vais m’unir mon amie Suzanne. Elle m’a invité à déjeuner dans un fast-food car elle a gagné un carte cadeau pour ce restaurant. En fait, c’est un groupe de restaurants. Suzanne a choisi le restaurant le moins cher. Je ne m’intéressais pas de manger un fast-food. Je lui ai dit que j’étais occupée au jour qu’elle a mentionné. Suzanne a changé la date pour s’adapter à mon emploi de temps. Alors, j’ai accepté son invitation. J’ai fait semblant d’être enthousiasmée. Je lui ai dit, « j’ai vérifié le menu. Je suis heureuse qu’il y a deux options végétariens. «
Je devrais être reconnaissant de son invitation et qu’elle a pensé à moi.

s'unir avec quelqu'un means to become one with someone, and can be a very weird thing to say in french.

"s'unir" ~ to make one ~ it can either mean "to get married" (old way of speaking though) or "to have intercourses".

Okay, I know where I got confused when I wrote, « … je vais m’unir mon amie Suzanne ».
I meant to write, « … je vais ME RÉUNIR mon amie Suzanne ». I wanted to say, “ I will meet my friend Suzanne. “ Would this be correct?

Hi Fifi_Dubois, hope you weren't shocked by my ridiculous joke.
"me réunir" isn't something we say. I actually can't see any case in which we could say that... Maybe in the case of Osiris, whose body parts were severed by Seth and spread all around Egypt. In a poetic way : "J'étais désuni mais Isis m'a réuni.", on a more factual way he should write "Isis a réuni mes morceaux.".
Let's be more thorough and start with the noun : "réunion" it is some kind of a formal gathering
"J'ai une réunion cette aprem" : "I have a meeting this afternoon" and we implicitely understand it is a job meeting, or some formal stuff in an association
Now it can also be another type of meeting, but then you would be more precise... and it would still be kind of formal : "La semaine prochaine je vais présider la réunion annuelle de l'association des philatélistes de Bourgogne pour la première fois." (next week I will preside for the very first time at the gathering of The Burgundy Stamp Collectors.).
Now the verb. It comes in two flavours (as often) "réunir <quelque chose>" (transitif) and "se réunir" (intransitif) and both mean more or less the same : to gather.
"Après 3 mois de jobs d'été j'ai finalement réuni l'argent pour acheter un nouvel ordinateur." (after three months of summer jobs I finally managed to collect enough money for a new computer)
"Après dix ans sans se donner de nouvelles, ça a été difficile de réunir les anciens élèves du lycée." (After 10 years without news it was difficult to gather all the former high school students for a meeting.)
"J'ai enfin réuni la bague et la broche de ma grand mère" (I finally managed to get back both grand ma's ring and her broach.)
"se réunir" : can't see actually how you would use this other than in plural since gathering implies at least two parts.
"Les fourmis se réunissent le soir au bord du pot de fleur pour jeter les détritus de la fourmilière." (ants are gathering in the evening at the rim of the flower pot for dumping their home's trash) <- true story :)
"Avec mon groupe d'amis d'enfance nous nous réunissons mensuellement dans un nouveau restaurant choisi chaque fois par l'un d'entre nous" (With my childhood friends we have this habit to gather every month in a different restaurant, chosen each time by one of us.)
Now back to Suzanne, it would be syntactically correct to say something like "Avec Suzanne nous allons nous réunir dans ce restaurant.", but it would gives a very formal feel, or a bit serious at least. Do you have a serious matter to attend (planning a hold-up ? taking big decisions, fill-up administrative forms.) ? Also, two people can perfectly "se réunir", but we would expect more people.
Altogether :
"Avec Suzanne nous allons nous retrouver dans ce restaurant"
"Avec Suzanne nous avons rendez-vous dans ce restaurant."
"J'ai rendez-vous avec Suzanne dans ce restaurant.".
And I don't dare to ask if it was good :)

Lunch was good! Suzanne won a gift card that could be used at any of the restaurants in a casino. We needed ID to enter, which I didn’t bring. We ended up going to a restaurant outside the casino which was more upscale. Instead of a bean burger or vegetarian panini, I was able to have a poke bowl. I offered to cover what the gift card could not and also offered to pay for my own meal. But Suzanne was gracious and picked up the entire tab.
