Eye contact

I'm an introvert. I tend to avoid social events. Even more, I prefer to be alone doing some hobby than going to a party full of people I know. It's not that I dislike the people around me, I just don't like social interactions that much. In the past, I felt very guilty for this. I was very shy and I felt very alone, because I didn't have any friends. That's why I started to hang out with some people, but they weren't really my friends. I just wanted to be around other people so I don't feel weird. Now, I'm over that phase and I truly enjoy being alone.

However, some problem I'm dealing with now is eye contact. I tend to avoid it. Even when talking it can very difficult for me to look at the speaker. Also, I realize that I have a very serious face sometimes and I think that makes people uncomfortable when being with me. That's why I try to not make that judging face and just relax.

I'm well aware that it's really important to have well developed social skills to live a better life. That's what I'm focusing now. I want people to hear me loud and clear and not misunderstand what I say. And not only that, I want to be myself without being afraid of how people look at me or if they rejected me. The bad part is that when I walk into a room I somehow can read people minds and I start to overthink about how I have to act in front of them, an habit that I'm trying to stop once and for all.

Thanks for reading!

I'm an extrovert with the people I know, I used to be an introvert, I think if you make friends with people, and if you can trust them, then you might be able over come your fears !

Very well written.

We typically capitalize both words in a title.

I'm an introvert.

I tend to avoid social events.

Even more, I prefer to be alone doing some hobby thanover going to a party full of people I know.

or: I would rather be… than

It's not that I dislike the people around me, I just don't like social interactions that much.

In the past, I felt very guilty for / about this.

“About” sounds more natural to me, but I’m not sure “for” is wrong.

I was very shy and I felt very alone, because I didn't have any friends.

That's why I started to hang out with some people, but / even though they weren't really my friends.

Something about “but” in this sentence doesn’t feel right to me.

I just wanted to be around other people so I wouldon't feel weird.

Now, I'm over that phase and I truly enjoy being alone.

However, somea problem I'm dealing with now is eye contact.

I tend to avoid it.

Even when talking it can very difficult for me to look at the speaker.

Also, I realize that I have a very serious face sometimes and I think that makes people uncomfortable [when being with me | around me].

There’s nothing wrong with your original wording, I’m just offering an idiomatic alternative.

That's why I try to not make that judging face and just relax.

I'm well aware that it's really important to have well developed social skills to live a better life.

That's what I'm focusing on now.

I want people to hear me loud and clear and not misunderstand what I say.

And not only that, I want to be myself without being afraid of how people look at me or if they rejected me.

The bad part is that when I walk into a room I somehow can read people minds and I start to overthink (about) how I have to act in front of them, an habit that I'm trying to stop once and for all.

I would omit “about.”
