Expressing ourselves
Every time we talk about ourselves, we do too much or too little, and it is impossible to express
what we think exactly. All we can do is use words which are as close to our thought as possible, one after another. In fact, paradoxically, only a person who give up seeking a perfect expression can get a rich vocabulary.
自分が自分について語ることは，つねに語り足りないか，語りすぎるかどちらかで，自分の思いを過不足なく言葉にできるなんてことは起こりえない。だから，ぎりぎりのところでそれに触れられそうな言葉を次々とつなげてゆくしか手がない。そして，逆説的なことだが，言葉による完全な表現を断念した人間だけが，豊かな言葉を獲得してゆくことができる。
